There are many women who take proper care of their cars for its smooth running. Even if you are a woman, you can even remove stereos of your car and replace with a new one on your own. You won’t need to go to mechanic or ask somebody for help; you can fix them on your own. Here are few tips which will help you to replace your car stereo and replace a new one:
First you need to check whether the radio needs repair or the antenna is bad. If the antenna is defective, your radio will not play AM stations and FM stations’ reception will be poor. If your radio is playing only AM stations and no FM stations, then you need to repair your radio.
For radio installation, you can choose from – factor stereos and aftermarket stereos. Factory radios offer screening out acoustic noise and unparalleled sound. Aftermarket radios can’t match up the sound performance of factory radios. But the installation of factory radio is quite expensive. If you can’t afford factory radio, then aftermarket is also a good option.
For radio installation, you will require antenna adapter, bypass cable and installation kit including mounting kit and a wire harness. Assemble all the things you are requiring for installation of stereo of your car and then follow the removal and installation instructions given on owner’s manual. First unleash the bolt and screws which secures the battery cable clamp to the battery terminal with the wrench. Then remove the cable’s clamp from battery. You need to disconnect negative cable before installing or removing any component of car’s electrical system.
Then remove screws and bolts of stereo unit and slide it from the mounting dock of stereo. After that disconnect the stereo wiring, cable of antenna and connect the stereo wiring into the wiring harness. Slightly put the installation cage in the stereo mounting dock. Drag the stereo wiring along with the cable of antenna from the backside of the stereo dock to the front side of the vehicles dash.
Then put the lead of wiring harness in the outlets on the back of the stereo. Plug the cable of antenna to FM antenna outlet on the backside of the stereo which you are going to fix. Slide the aftermarket/factory stereo into the stereo dock. Then push it and fit it until it locks. And then follow remaining installation instructions given on manual.
